On Monday 23 May, a 25-year-old man was shot at Bellmansplan in Eskilstuna. He was seriously injured, taken by ambulance to hospital and died later in the evening.
Four people were arrested in connection with the murder. But was then released, free from suspicion of involvement in the murder. However, two of them are still in custody for another gun crime.
On Saturday, was arrested a 17-year-old from the district court in Nyköping on probable cause suspected of murder and aggravated weapon crime.
Among the evidence against the teenager are objects found in a forest grove about 700 meters from the crime scene. DNA on the objects can be linked to the 17-year-old, prosecutor Maria Estberg says P4 Sörmland.
Even a weapon was found in the same area and the police are investigating whether it can be linked to the 17-year-old and the shooting. The prosecutor tells P4 Sörmland that cartridge cases from the crime scene should be compared with the weapon.
The motive behind the incident is still unclear.
