The bank has asked households in Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Germany. And the appetite for crypto money varies, from just 6 percent in France to over 14 percent in the Netherlands.
Many holdings seem relatively small, the majority is “less than 5,000 euros”, corresponding to 50,000 kronor.

The fact that the sector is popular is evident in the growth. At the end of 2021, the ECB estimates that the total amount of crypto money corresponded to SEK 25,000 billion. In recent times, many cryptocurrencies have lost a lot of value, but still the total value is now “seven times as large as at the beginning of 2020”, it is said.
