The coil was rolled up after a 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with a find of a sharply charged pistol in Karlstad last summer. In the investigation of that crime, the emptying of mobile phones led to a house search in Bromma in western Stockholm, writes NWT. A warehouse of weapons and drugs was found there, including the AK-47 which the police could later establish was the weapon used in the murder in Botkyrka south of Stockholm.
At the same time, the police began to suspect that two people who were detained at Kumla controlled an extensive arms and drug trade from inside the institution, writes VF.
A total of seven people could be linked to various crimes in the plot, and on Friday Värmland District Court announced its verdict.
The penalties ranged from between nine months ‘imprisonment to just over seven years’ imprisonment, including for particularly serious gun crime, serious drug crime and auxiliary crime, writes VF. All were convicted of their denial.
The investigation into the murder of the twelve-year-old girl in Botkyrka is still ongoing. Several people are suspected in the case and the prosecutor told TT in April that she aims to bring charges in August. The girl, who was out with her dog, was shot and later died. According to police, the girl was not the target of the shooting.
