Depeche Mode member Andy Fletcher dies at 60

Andy Fletcher, member of the world-famous British band Depeche Mode, has died at the age of 60.

Fletcher was one of the founders of the group that came together in the 80s.

“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the untimely death of our close friend, family member and band member,” the group’s social media account said in a statement.

Depeche Mode has made a name for itself with chart-topping electronic songs since its establishment.

Fletcher was the co-creator of songs such as Just Can’t Get Enough, Personal Jesus and Enjoy the Silence with other members of the band.

Formed in Basildon in 1980, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two years ago.

Andy Fletcher was born in Nottingham.

Famous names of the music world are publishing a condolence message on the death of the name known as Fletch.

The Cure’s drummer, Lol Tolhurst, shared a message saying he was “deeply saddened” by Fletcher’s death.

Anton Newcombe, lead singer of Brian Jonestown Massacre, also shared the message “I commemorate”.

The band was formed by lead singer Dave Gahan, and Alan Wilder, Andrew Fletcher and Martin Gore, who later left the band.
