Tom Cruise is currently in the cinema with Top Gun: Maverick, and that’s already announced next big action return of the Hollywood star. At the beginning of the week, the first trailer for Mission: Impossible 7 – Dead Reckoning Part One was released, which comes up with some spectacular pictures and daring stunts.

There are few film series that have reinvented themselves as often as Mission: Impossible. Based on the 1988 television series of the same name, De Palma considered one for the first feature film nerve wracking thrillerin which the tension is built up with equal care and efficiency.

The first sequel, Mission: Impossible 2, couldn’t have been more the opposite. Where De Palma slowly approached through the fog, John unleashed Woo Action inferno beyond compare
– including pigeons and slow motion. Suddenly, Ethan Hunt wasn’t a secret agent anymore, but a rock star who swapped masks like wigs.

With Mission: Impossible 3, the series rowed back a bit. JJ Abrams, who later also rebooted Star Trek and Star Wars, found one dynamic Balance between the two extremes the predecessor. He also established the framework on the basis of which Mission: Impossible could become a mega-franchise.
