who was qualified in episode 15 Summary and notes

TOP CHEF 2022. The quarter-finals began in episode 15 of Top Chef this Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Who was qualified? The recap and the notes.

[Mis à jour le 25 mai 2022 à 23h40] Top Chef is coming to an end soon. This Wednesday, May 25, 2022, M6 broadcast the first part of the 2022 quarter-finals. As a reminder, there are only four candidates left: Louise in Hélène Darroze’s brigade, Pascal at Philippe Etchebest, Sébastien at Paul Pairet and Arnaud on the side of Glenn Viel. To qualify for the rest of the competition, each candidate must win two events and have two passes.

The quarter-finals of Top Chef started very strong this Wednesday since two passes were at stake from the first test. Chef Mauro Colagreco challenged the candidates on two recipes: making a flower-based starter and a grass-based dessert. Pressure or additional boost, the participants were able to count on the letters and the presence of their loved ones (Sebastien’s mother and sisters, Louise’s sister and father, Arnaud’s friends and Pascal’s father). Quickly during this test, a duel between Arnaud and Louise takes shape, the two candidates receiving the praises of Mauro Colagreco. Each of the two candidates obtains a pass at the end of this test.

The second round of this first Top Chef quarter-final was led by Stéphanie Le Quellec, former winner of the culinary competition. The starred chef required candidates to master technique and creativity: their main recipe had to be hidden by other ingredients, in order to create a surprise when tasting. As in the first event, Arnaud and Louise stand out. The former decides to use savory flavors from Italy hidden behind the appearance of a dessert, while Louise insisted on paying homage to her Portuguese roots. It is finally Arnaud, from the brigade of Glenn Viel, who won Stéphanie Le Quellec’s event. By collecting two passes from the first episode, he is the first to qualify for the semi-finals. Louise, Pascal and Sébastien will play their place in the competition from the next episode, there was no elimination at the end of this episode 15.

Since the creation of Top Chef, the show’s jury has evolved from season to season, with some chefs leaving the show to be replaced by new names from the French culinary scene. For the 2022 season, Philippe Etchebest (blue brigade), Hélène Darroze (red brigade) and Paul Pairet (purple brigade) are returning to the jury. Top Chef viewers discovered a new juror during the 2022 season. If Philippe Etchebest, Hélène Darroze and Paul Pairet are still present, Michel Sarran has been removed from the program. The latter evokes a choice of production, without knowing the reasons: “It was a little violent, remembers the Toulouse chef in an interview with Parisian, last September. I did not expect it at all. Why me What prompted their decision? What did I do wrong? I didn’t get an answer.” He is replaced by Glenn Viel who, according to information from Télé Loisirs, did not fail to contact his predecessor before filming, for correction.
