Solar 3.0 sets Destiny 2 ablaze

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

When Destiny 2 started the new season 17 yesterday, the hut was on fire in the truest sense of the word. Players were able to try out the new Solar 3.0 subclass subclass for the first time, and it’s really rocking on all three classes. MeinMMO took part and gives you an overview.

For three years, the Void, Solar, and Arc subclasses in Destiny 2 remained unchanged. That only changed with Witch Queen, when Bungie brought Void 3.0.

Season 17, “Season of the Haunted,” is now all about the Solar 3.0 ability, and ideally it’s going to melt your face off, as Kevin Janes, Sandbox Discipline Lead at Bungie, put it. So say goodbye to your eyebrows.

  • Titans can now literally “burn the world”. They unleash the wrath of immortal suns with the improved hammer. A confrontation with a Solar 3.0 Titan feels like the end of everything.
  • The hunter scores with radiant weapon damage and generates a few improvised solar bombs with the light of the traveler if something else wants to crawl away.
  • Warlocks become archangel pyromancers, triggering chain detonations and throwing lava grenades while sticking the healing patches on their fireteam.
  • Warlocks flick arguably one of the deadliest sparks with Solar 3.0.

All new Solar 3.0 aspects at a glance

    Hunter

    HUNTER ASPECT
“Gunpowder Gamble” Defeat targets with abilities, solar debuffs, or solar weapons to charge an improvised solar explosive. Throw a solar explosive that can be shot into the air to cause an ignition.HUNTER ASPECT
“Knock them down” Your Solar Supers will be upgraded. Golden Gun – Deadshot has longer duration, Golden Gun – Marksman has longer damage resistance and duration, and Blade Barrage shoots more projectiles. While you are Radiant, final hits with the equipped throwing knife fully refund your melee energy.HUNTER ASPECT
“On Your Mark” precision final blows grant you and nearby allies increased weapon handling and reload speed for a short time. Stacks 3 times. Activating your class ability instantly grants maximum stacks of Ready.

    Titans

    TITANIUM ASPECT
SanctificationActivate your charged melee ability while gliding to launch a wave of solar energy forward, damaging and searing targets in front of you as you leap into the air. While in the air, reactivate your charged melee to slam the ground and create a second larger wave of damaging solar energy. When the wave hits a burned target, they ignite.TITAN ASPECT
“Roaring Flames” finishers with Solar abilities or Ignite increase the damage of your Solar abilities. Stacks 3 times.TITAN ASPECT
“Sol-Invictus” Solar ability finishers, Hammer of Sol impacts, and defeating burned targets generate Sunspots. Your abilities regenerate faster and your super depletes more slowly while standing in a sunspot. Sunspots scorch and damage targets within. Entering a sunspot applies restoration.

    warlocks

    WARLOCK ASPECT
“The heat is increasing”You can fire weapons, engage in melee combat, and throw grenades while gliding. Consumes grenade. Airborne final blows increase the duration of heat build-ups and grant melee energy.WARLOCK ASPECT
“Icarus Dash” Quickly dodge in the air. While Heat Rises is active, you have an additional dodge.WARLOCK ASPECT
Touch of Flame Heal, Solar, Firebolt, and Fusion grenades have improved functionality. Healing Grenade has improved healing and recovery, Solar Grenade increases dwell time and fires lava gobs, Firebolt Grenade increases targeting radius and count, and Fusion Grenade explodes twice.

So the new Solar 3.0 aspects have given players a number of options to put together burning good builds and try them out on the enemies of humanity and other Guardians.

There are also a variety of additional ember fragments, such as embers from the eruption or embers from the torches. Bungie also has four unknown fragments in the game that will likely only be revealed after the release of the new dungeon, Duality.

What the best options are here in the end is already being discussed on reddit.

I can’t stress enough how freaking cool the gameplay loop looks, defeating an enemy with the [Jäger]-Put down the grenade and then ignite it with the knife. […]

Bungie has taken solar to an uncomfortable but also appealing level in Destiny 2. In the latest Bungie Insight, the developer also gave a look behind the scenes of the development of Solar 3.0. We linked the video for you here:

Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted Developer Insights

New movement for all three classes: In addition to the hot new skills, the movement of all three classes has changed with Solar 3.0.

  • The Hunter does somersaults in the air to make his teammates shine.
  • The Titan uppercuts while sliding, then smashes its dual solar hammers into the ground for fiery AoE damage.
  • And the Warlock “flicks” from his fingers arguably one of the deadliest sparks in the game.
  • Old raid becomes a patrol area: Incidentally, the guardians can currently try out their new skills on the returned Leviathan. While NewLight players roam around there in amazement, Destiny veterans know their way around quite well.

Bungie has reforested the old and vaulted Leviathan raid, complete with circus, throne room, substructure and pleasure gardens for the “season of the haunted”. It has become a large, overgrown patrol area to explore. However, there is not much left of the former splendor, because the Egregora plants of darkness have spread everywhere.

The Separation activity is also a mix of the vaulted-exotic omen and the content of the Shadowkeep expansion.
