The two men who were accused of trying to go to the Islamic State (IS) to fight were sentenced on Wednesday in Gothenburg District Court to eight months in prison. This is thus the first time someone has been convicted of a so-called travel crime under the Terrorism Act. The men are two brothers in their 40s. They were arrested in February at Landvetter Airport. The security police had been keeping an eye on the men for some time. However, they have not been judged to be part of any fixed grouping with a terrorist connection. Extensive material from chat conversations is an important part of the evidence against the brothers. The prosecutor demanded that each of the men be sentenced to ten months in prison. See more in the live broadcast above.
