South Korea has announced that North Korea has tested a new missile. It was noteworthy that three ballistic missile tests, one of which was intercontinental, took place after the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue ‘Quad’ summit.
THEY ARE FIRED IN CASE OF USE
According to the South Korean General Staff, 1 intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from Pyongyang’s Sunan region at 06:00 local time, and 2 ballistic missiles at 06.37 and 06:42.
The first missile traveled 300 kilometers at an altitude of 550 kilometers, and the second missile, traveling 750 kilometers at an altitude of 50 kilometers, fell on the east coast of the country.
It was recorded that the third missile reached an altitude of 20 kilometers and disappeared from the radar.
Japanese Defense Minister Kishi Nobuo reported that the missiles fell outside the Japanese national exclusive economic zone.
“THREEEN PEACE AND SECURITY”
“North Korea’s activities, including missile tests, threaten the peace and security of Japan and the international community,” said Minister Kishi.
The US Indo-Pacific Forces (INDOPACOM), on the other hand, described the trials as “the destabilizing effects of (North Korea’s) illegal weapons program”.
THE TRIAL WAS HELD AFTER THE FOUR SUMMIT
It was noteworthy that the trials took place after the Quadruple Security Dialogue “Quad” summit, hosted by Tokyo, attended by the leaders of Japan, the USA, Australia and India.
With the last test, North Korea has conducted the 16th missile test since the beginning of 2022.
