Rogue One series wants to completely change popular characters

The biggest change to the Star Wars franchise may have come from an unexpected corner. The creator of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story series Star Wars: Andor will apparently tell fan favorites from completely new perspectives.

Rogue One series Andor could completely rewrite Star Wars history

Tony Gilroy revealed this to Vanity Fair:

There are figures that are already a cultural asset. She thinks she understands and knows the passionate audience. In part they are right. But sometimes we also say, “What you know, what you’ve been told, what’s in Wookieepedia, what you’ve been telling each other… is actually quite wrong.”

The upcoming Star Wars series is set to tell the backstory of the rough-hewn rebel Andor (Diego Luna). Characters that have long been anchored in the franchise, such as Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly), should also appear. They could be bathed in a whole new light.

When is the Star Wars series Andor coming to Disney+?

What exactly lies behind Gilroy’s mysterious words, fans should soon find out. Andor shall later this year on Disney+ to be published.
