Monkey pox: the new health threat?

Three questions about monkeypox of which dozens of cases have

normal

Several Western countries including France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, Spain and Sweden have recorded cases of monkey pox. The disease can be transmitted by close contact with an infected person or by contact with objects they have used, such as clothing, bedding or utensils. Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills and fatigue. Rashes can occur, go through different phases before crusting over and falling off. The risk of contagion of monkeypox is “very low” in the general population but “high” in people with multiple sexual partners, the European Union disease agency said on Monday.
