STRIKE RATP. Monday 23, Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 May 2022, buses and trams in Paris are on strike. RATP management announces 60% of traffic on average. Check out the forecast.
[Mis à jour le 21 mai 2022 à 21h20] Three new days of strike are planned from Monday May 23 to Wednesday May 25, 2022 at the call of all the unions of the surface network (RDS), following the failure of negotiations on the working time of machinists. Bus and tram agents, “the surface networks”, will be massively mobilized, protesting against the consequences of the opening to competition of the RATP bus network from January 1, 2025.
“The RATP currently forecasts highly disrupted traffic on the Bus and Tramway networks, with 60% of traffic provided on average for the day of Monday May 23,” said the management of the Paris transport network in a press release. “The metro and RER networks are not affected by this notice,” she added.
Monday 23, Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 May 2022, the situation should be particularly difficult on the bus and tram network, with 60% of traffic insured. The RATP does not announce any disruption on the metros and RER. Here is what we know so far about the disruptions of the RATP strike on May 23, 24 and 25, in detail:
- Metro disruptions : the metro network is not concerned by the strike of 23, 24 and 25 May.
- RER disruptions : the RER network is not concerned by the strike of 23, 24 and 25 May.
- Bus disruptions : 2 buses out of 3, with the interruption of certain lines, from Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 May 2022.
- Tram disruptions : 3 trams out of 5 on average during peak hours, from Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 May 2022.
After the previous black days of March 25 and February 18, the UNSA, FO, CGT, Solidaires, CFDT and SAT unions of the “surface networks” continue to denounce, in a joint press release, the company agreements generated by the opening competition from the Parisian bus network by 2025, which they consider to be a “break in the working conditions of machinists-receivers”.
Negotiations between unions and management on an agreement on the working hours of Parisian bus and tram drivers did not succeed. The unions refused to sign the RATP management’s proposal of April 4, which consisted of an increase in working time of 120 hours per year including the elimination of 6 days of RTT, in exchange for a salary increase of 2 600 euros gross per year. Thus, from July 1, the management of the RATP will take unilateral measures: “20 overtime hours per year against a gross increase of 420 euros”, details Le Parisien.
