This weekend’s rural parliament is the sixteenth in a row and takes place May 20-22 at Elmia Congress & Concert Hall in Jönköping. Seminars are interspersed with mingling and politicians’ conversations.
The Center Party’s party leader Annie Lööf believes that it was obvious to be involved.
– A vote for the Center Party is a vote for the countryside. It is a matter of course for us to be here, but I am surprised at how few party leaders come here this weekend given how many people raise the countryside as an important issue, says Annie Lööf (C).
“Sweden can do better”
Minister for Rural Affairs Anna-Caren Sätherberg (S) says that there must be priorities for developing rural areas.
– Sweden can do better and we have priorities to take Sweden forward. There must be a functioning welfare, it must be safe throughout the country, but it is also about the green transition and that we must create more green jobs, she says.
In the clip above, you hear Annie Lööf (C) and Anna-Caren Sätherberg (S) about what their respective parties prioritize in the countryside.
