For a whole seven weeks, she has not been able to shower and wash herself due to water temperatures that are far too low.

– I have home care so that I can shower once a week, but now it is seven times that I have not showered, she tells the site Home & rent.

As if that wasn’t enough, Christmas has been really cold. On Christmas Day, there was no heat in the rental apartment.

– On Christmas Day there was no heat. The elements were freezing cold and there was no heat until half past five in the evening.

In order to keep warm, the 94-year-old woman was forced to sit with a thick jacket on in her home to keep warm.

The neighbor was forced to be home from work

In the same residential building, neighbors of the woman have experienced similar problems, where they had to resort to drastic methods. A neighboring family has had to turn on the oven and open the door to spread heat in the home.

Another neighbor, who suffers from rheumatic pain, has been forced to stay home from work because of pain caused by too low temperatures in the home.

According to the rental community, the fault reports that have been made have been dealt with. They do not share the tenants’ view, but believe that the reason for the cold temperatures is because maintenance work was carried out on the pellet boiler, after which, according to standard procedures, it had to be turned off for a while.

– Then the temperature goes down for a couple of hours and then up again and that’s a normal procedure, says a representative from the property company.
