Shortly after 2 p.m., the police receive an alarm about a woman in her 90s in Karlshamn who has been the victim of fraud. A man knocked on her door and said he was going to check the water in the residence. The man then searched through her residence, but did not steal anything.
After 5 p.m., the next alarm comes, this time from Helsingborg. Another 90-year-old woman was visited by a man who also wanted to “check the water”. Several men entered the residence and took money and jewelry.

It is unclear why the fraud in Karlshamn was interrupted without anything being stolen. None of the ladies were physically injured.
The police’s call: “Do not open the door”
The police urges that relatives or acquaintances talk to those who are older.
– Do not open the door to people you do not know. Hang up if someone calls and wants money or card details, says Evelina Olsson.
– They are very cunning. We have had cases where these criminals have talked for several hours with elderly people on the phone and gained their trust and at the same time got their money.
