The encounter between the American writer Harlan Coben and the streaming service Netflix has proven to be an unexpected stroke of luck for all fans of exciting stories about disappeared figures and dark secrets. Because Netflix films one cob-novel after the other.
In 2018 the first adaptation at the streamer went online. Now the tenth starts: no bad dream. This time the story revolves around a woman who receives a puzzling photo and then has to question her entire life and that of her husband. It is already the second film adaptation of the fabric.
No bad dream at Netflix: The 10th (!) Harlan Coben series provides thriller replenishment
At first glance, it looks as if the jewelry designer Greta (Maria Debska) is leading a happy life. She slides carefree through the day and pursues her tasks. But then she reaches a photo that messes up everything. Because in this photo her husband Jacek (Cezary Lukaszewicz) can be seen.
Here you can not watch the trailer for a bad dream:

In itself, the photo appears inconspicuous: Jacek is depicted by other people at a young age. What Greta worries is that she cannot identify any of these people. And it becomes even stranger: As soon as Jacek gets the photo, he becomes chalk. The next day he disappeared.
For six episodes, we follow Greta, who tries to find out why her husband took flight so suddenly. Who is it so much afraid that he simply leaves his entire life? The deeper you immerse yourself in his past, the more secrets come to light that draw an uncomfortable picture.
The Netflix version of no bad dream is the second film adaptation of the thriller
In 2017, Coben’s novel was filmed for the first time in the course of the French production Just One Look. The Netflix series now comes from Poland, the home of two other Coben-Netflix series: the grave in the forest and you see you. In order not to understand the action of no bad dream, you do not have to know it.
The Coben cosmos, which has been built up at Netflix in recent years, is not a densely networked universe in which all stories and figures are connected. On the contrary: every series stands for itself. Nevertheless, it is clearly recognizable every time: this is the Coben brand.
Similar narrative patterns, similar topics and similar productions: even a parent actor have produced the series. When a Coben film is from Great Britain, the chances are good that Hobbit star Richard Armitage will play along. In no bad dream, however, we have to do without him.
