9 new Apple products that could launch in 2023

Geekbench Score of Apple iPhone 15 Pro Fears Its Competitors

2023 in its current form, apple It’s been a busy year already. The company has launched a new yellow iPhone 14, brought back the HomePod, and refreshed its Mac lineup with an M2 Mac mini and M2 MacBook Pro. But what else do you think is on the agenda? Looks like much more is on the way. From new iPhones to an upgraded Apple Watch and possibly an AR headset, here are the nine products we expect from Apple in 2023.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro

This year, we expect the iPhone 15 lineup to include an iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. That said, the iPhone 15 is said to feature a larger 6.2-inch display this year, though the rest of the series will come with the same dimensions as before. However, this year’s models may come with a different charging type by adopting the USB-C standard. Meanwhile, the Dynamic Island feature will now be available on all iPhone models, so we’ll greet it on a standard iPhone 15 as well.

iPhone 15 Ultra

Apple iPhone 15 Pro may have different volume button design

Other rumors circulating about the iPhone 15 include a brand new iPhone 15 Ultra, which may or may not be the same as the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

But this model will include more than just a name change. It is said that the iPhone 15 Ultra will have a lighter and more durable titanium body instead of stainless steel. This could also mean a higher starting price, but rumors show a starting price of $1200.

Another big upgrade will be a periscope-style telephoto camera, which is said to be only available on the iPhone 15 Ultra or Pro Max model. This means a higher level of optical zoom than we currently have, bringing the iPhone to similar optical zoom ranges offered by competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Another camera improvement will be dual selfie cameras for an improved bokeh effect in self-portrait images. And while the rest of the iPhone 15 series comes with the USB-C charging standard, reports suggest that the iPhone 15 Ultra may be completely portless, relying solely on wireless charging.

Apple Watch Series 9

Another product that is on the annual release cycle and will be released with new iPhones is the Apple Watch. An Apple Watch Series 9 will arrive this year. But we may not get any major upgrades like the Apple Watch Series 7 and Apple Watch Series 8. Last year, major upgrades came with a completely different product, the brand new Apple Watch Ultra. It would be nice to see some Ultra features make it all the way down to the regular Apple Watch Series 9, but this year’s models won’t be all that different.

iPad, iPad Air and iPad Mini

Apple-iPad-10

We may not see major upgrades this year, as Apple launches an updated iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Pro in 2022, and an iPad mini in 2021. In fact, rumors suggest that Apple is shifting most of its focus to the mixed reality headset, which means it’s less focused on other products like the entire iPad lineup.

But reports suggest that this year there may be very small feature increases for the entry-level iPad, iPad mini and iPad Air. However, major updates will increase with the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro, which could be announced in the first half of 2024.

M2 MacPro

The Mac Pro is the only product in Apple’s product line that still hasn’t made the switch to an Apple processor. An updated Mac Pro has been in the works for a long time – it was even mentioned by name at the spring event in 2022. But it’s finally coming and it could be released in April. However, rumors about it may disappoint some. First, it won’t be a more powerful model, the only difference being that it will offer an M2 Ultra processor.

15-inch MacBook Air

MacBook-Air

A bigger MacBook Air is one of the weirdest rumors in 2023. However, reports indicate that Apple plans to expand the MacBook Air to a larger size. This would be the first time Apple has offered size options for the MacBook Air since the 11-inch model was discontinued in 2016.

This larger MacBook Air is said to have a large 15.5-inch display, but other than that it should share a lot of things with the current 13-inch M2 MacBook Air.

M2iMac

Apple-iMac-2021

The 24-inch iMac was one of the first Apple Silicon Macs to show how the efficiency of the chips allowed Apple to make some cutting-edge designs. In the case of the 24-inch iMac, Apple has managed to cram the entire motherboard into the lower jaw, making the display incredibly thin.

It is currently unknown whether Apple will upgrade the iMac to an M2 and release it sooner, or register it as a launch product for the M3 later. But if the M3 processor is planned for this model, we can see the next generation iMac next year.

Apple Reality Pro Headset

The flashiest Apple product of 2023, if it comes out this year, will be the Reality Pro headset. Rumor has it that the Reality Pro headset will be the company’s first major new product category to launch since the Apple Watch, which explains why the anticipation is so strong. The high-end product is said to be a mixed reality headset like the Meta Quest Pro or HTC Vive XR Elite and could cost $3,000. Wow!

However, the rumored 15 cameras, 4K displays, 150 gram weight, and the ability to switch between AR and VR could easily make the Reality Pro the most advanced of its kind. But we’ll have to wait and see what Apple has to offer. Either way, XR tech will see a tremendous product. As for the release date, all rumors point to an announcement at WWDC in June and it will likely go on sale later this year.

Mini LED Pro Screen XDR

An update has been rumored for a long time to come to Pro Display XDR, but the release date continues to be delayed. This updated 27-inch monitor would supposedly switch to mini LED or OLED to match what the company did with the latest MacBook Pros. There’s been a growing interest in mini LED and OLED monitors lately, and Apple’s ultra-expensive Pro Display XDR is starting to look a little long.

It would certainly make sense for Apple to want its most expensive and professionally certified monitor to have the best display technology it has to offer, this also includes a faster ProMotion refresh rate. It would also make sense for Apple to launch this display alongside a new Mac Pro, but rumors currently point to a late 2023 launch at the earliest.
