These 9 Netflix series are still being continued – even if nobody expected them anymore
There are a variety of reasons why some Netflix series keep you waiting for new episodes for far too long. It’s often because the streamer is taking their time before even deciding on an extension (or cancellation). Then the script work usually begins. In addition to lengthy production times for complete seasons, Netflix series also have to be translated and dubbed for different markets before they can be launched.

The Blood of Zeus animated series blends Greek mythology with epic fantasy action. Netflix placed a lot of faith in the series from the animation studio behind Castlevania and Masters of the Universe: Revelation, ordering two more seasons just weeks after launch. So far there is no information about a possible return date.

Fans of the post-apocalyptic horror series from South Korea are already used to waiting. After launching in December 2020, it took Netflix a year and a half to decide on the future of the series. Luckily, Sweet Home has been extended for two seasons, which are already finished. In the 4th quarter of 2023, after a three-year break, season 2 should finally continue.

The animation series Hilda is a heartwarming and fantastic series, but it’s quite slow going. Fans had to wait more than two years between the first two seasons. Another year later, the film Hilda and the Mountain King followed on Netflix. But this is not a conclusion, because a third and final season was ordered in November 2021. A start date is not yet available. Based on the production time of the previous seasons, the finale could be released before the end of the year.
