This is one of the largest anti-pedocrime raids in France. All this week, in 53 departments of the country, including overseas, 80 men were arrested, suspected of having downloaded or shared images or videos of a pedophilic nature in large quantities. And some of them have particularly sensitive profiles.

Every year in France, several hundred thousand Internet users view or exchange child-criminal content, but OFMIN, the minors’ office, focuses on the most dangerous profiles. This is what was explained to our colleagues from the newspaper The Parisian Gabrielle Hazan, the boss of this new central judicial police office.
The 80 suspects arrested this week across France, after months of investigation, were arrested because of a particularly high download volume, sometimes up to several thousand files. Or, for around ten of them, because they have a particularly sensitive profile. For example because they work in contact with children.
Two men are in fact school teachers, another is an ambulance driver and another is a night supervisor in a home for disabled children. The latter suspect had already been convicted in a case of rape of minors.
In total, around fifteen men were placed in pre-trial detention. The others under judicial supervision while investigations continue.
