Student Jaafar Taha, who lives near the school, tells BBC that he first heard a bang and then how people started screaming for help.

    – It was terrible. There were body parts everywhere and the walls were covered in blood, he says.

Israel’s military, the IDF, claims in turn that the attack was aimed at members of terror-labeled Hamas who, according to them, built a “command and control center” in the school.

“The control center was used as a hideout for Hamas terrorists and commanders, from where various attacks were planned and carried out against IDF forces and the State of Israel,” writes the IDF on Telegram.
