700 euros paid to more than a million retirees on

Due to a delay in payment by the National Old Age Insurance Fund (CNAV), 1.1 million retirees will receive an additional 700 euros. The next payment is scheduled for September 9. Here are the people concerned.

Life in retirement is not always easy. To provide financial support to seniors with modest incomes, the government has decided to increase the retirement pensions of 1.7 million French people. This increase, initially planned for September 2023, concerns those who have worked all their lives with salaries close to the minimum wage.Nearly 1.7 million retirees will benefit from an increase in their pension, of which around 700,000 will receive a payment from autumn 2023. Subsequent increases will take place in spring 2024, with retroactive effect from 1 September 2023.“, the government specified in a press release published on August 11, 2023.

The aim is to guarantee beneficiaries 85% of the net minimum wage after a full career. However, to date, only 600,000 retirees have seen their pension increase, by an average of 50 euros per month. The others, who should also have benefited from this increase, have had to wait…

The National Old Age Insurance Fund (CNAV) indicates that this delay is due to the complexity of the files, particularly for those who have contributed to different pension schemes. The problem should be resolved as early as September 2024. Indeed, 1.1 million retirees will receive compensation for increases not paid for a year. Those who should have received an average of 60 euros per month will therefore receive a single payment of around 700 euros.

This amount will be added to the monthly revaluation, which will begin in September with a payment planned by the Cnav on the 9th of the month. If you are affected by this delayed revaluation, there is no action to take, because the Cnav already has all the information necessary to identify the beneficiaries. Good news for this September return to school.
