The live event for the Pokémon GO Fest in Berlin is already in the starting blocks, which is why you should make the best use of the time until the start for your preparations. We at MeinMMO show you 7 tips with which you are best equipped for the event.
What kind of event is it? In early June, Niantic held a global Pokémon GO Fest. This event is now entering the next round in the form of a total of three live events in the cities of Berlin, Seattle and Sapporo. Germany is the first to do this, which is why the GO Fest starts in Berlin this weekend.
In order to participate, you need a special ticket. This can be booked via the Niantic ticket page for one of the event days. In the following, we will show you how you can best prepare for the live event so that you do not waste valuable time on site and what you should consider when planning your event.
When does the GO Fest Berlin take place? The event runs over a total of three days from July 1st to July 3rd, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. If you have a special “Early Access” ticket, you can also play from 9:00 a.m.
7 tips to prepare for the GO Fest in Berlin
Anyone who has bought a ticket for the GO Fest in Berlin can look forward to numerous spawns and bonuses over the coming weekend. But the event time on site is limited and therefore valuable, which is why you should prepare for it now.
It is also helpful if you think about one or the other point in advance so that you don’t experience any nasty surprises at the event. We have summarized 7 tips below to help you prepare for the GO Fest in Berlin.
1. Plan your arrival and book accommodation
Probably the most important preparation is planning the journey to the live event. Think in advance how you will get to the Britzer Garten in Berlin. Also note which entrance you chose when you bought your ticket, because you can only enter the park at this entrance.
As the operators of the location themselves write on their homepage, there are only a few parking spaces available on site (via britzergarten.de). It is therefore best to use public transport instead.
Plan enough time for your journey, no matter which way, so that you don’t lose any valuable time in the Britzer Garden. According to Niantic, admission is possible from 8:00 a.m. local time, but the event content will only be activated for you at the booked start.
Book a hotel: If you are not from near Berlin, you should probably organize accommodation. In the meantime, however, the hotel rooms around the event location are looking rather meager and the prices are correspondingly high. So if you still need a place to stay, you should take care of this as soon as possible. You can find a list of possible hotels on the Pokémon GO website.
What do you need upon entry? To get to the park, all you need is your confirmation email for ticket purchase and your digital ticket in the game. You have to show this to the staff on site.
2. Sort Pokémon storage
Before the GO Fest starts in Berlin, you should really sort out your Pokémon storage. So you can play locally without having to constantly send monsters. Especially the new Shinys, Tarnpignon and Grillmak will be interesting for many players. If you want to make full use of the 7 hours of general access, you should have at least 500 free seats for the event.
It is best to use the filter and tag functions in the game for sorting, so you can sort your monsters directly according to their strength. By entering the search function “0*,1*,2*”, you will be shown all Pokémon that have a maximum of 2 stars.
If you still have to sort out monsters during the event, you can also use the “Age0” filter. This only shows you monsters that are not older than 24 hours. This allows you to part with the losers you caught at the GO Fest in Berlin.
3. Collect balls, berries and important items
During the GO Fest you will need heaps of Balls and Berries. Since Community Day with Kapuno must have cost you a lot of them, you should replenish your supply accordingly. For coaches who have a ticket for general access and thus play 7 hours, there should be at least 350 balls.
Trainers who have extended access to the GO Fest in Berlin need more. Of course you can also spin new balls on site, but it is important to have a good basis in advance so that you don’t suddenly run out of items.
We show you an overview of how you can get balls in Pokémon GO in our related article:

Which items are also important? Depending on the Pokémon, it is also worth betting on pineapple berries when catching them. These bring you the double candies. So stock up on this as well.
If you want to participate in raids on site, you should also think about premium battle passes and golden raspberries. You’ll also need enough revives and potions to breathe life back into your monsters after battle. You can also use smoke to attract even more Pokémon.
4. Provide and load technology
So that you can enjoy the GO Fest in Berlin carefree and without technical problems, you should have your technology ready in advance and fully charge your smartphone. Also, take a power bank with you so that you can recharge your cell phone on the go. Don’t forget to load this completely in advance.
Also make sure that your power bank has a correspondingly high capacity and, in the best case, is sufficient for more than one battery charge.
For trainers who are still looking for a good power bank, we have included so-called affiliate links below. If you order a product through this, we will receive a small commission from the provider. This does not affect your price!

5. Check weather
Before you make your way to the GO Fest in Berlin, you should check the weather for your booked event day. According to the current status, it should be particularly warm again on all three days. For this reason, think about appropriate sun protection.
Even in case of rain, the live event will take place. For this reason, you should also remember to wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring rain protection, such as a rain poncho or umbrella.
6. Organize catering
During the GO Fest in Berlin you should also think about sufficient food and drinks. There will be water refilling stations in the Britzer Garden where you can fill up your drinking bottles. So be sure to bring a bottle with you.
You can also get something to eat at the snack bars on site. If you don’t want to spend any money on this, you can also take packaged food and drinks into the park. You should organize this in advance.
7. Schedule meetings with content creators
The GO Fets in Berlin also has another special feature in store for you. Numerous content creators such as Spieletrend, Trainer Tips, ChaosLady or The Trainer Club will be on site during the event.
At certain times you can meet your darling for an autograph session. So think about who you want to meet in advance and plan enough waiting time on site. You can find an overview of all the autograph sessions of the individual content creators at the GO Fest in Berlin in our related article.
