In the statement made by the Moroccan Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was reported that 296 people died and 153 people were injured, according to initial findings, in the earthquake felt in many cities of the country.

It was reported that the cities where the deaths occurred include Marrakech, Azilal, Agadir, Varzazat and Chichaoua.

In the statement, it was emphasized that local institutions, police forces and civil defense teams mobilized all their resources to detect the damage caused by the earthquake and deliver the necessary aid to those in need, and citizens were called to remain calm and not to panic.
