After two years of Corona, Comic-Con 2022 in San Diego could find its way back to its old size. San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC for short) takes place from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th July. Here in ticker we will be updating the highlights of the convention hourly.

Before we get started, take a look at 7 possible highlights of Comic-Con 2022.

1. Dungeons & Dragons might be Comic-Con’s secret gem

It became quiet around Paramount’s adaptation of the long-lived role-playing game, with the last flap falling in August 2021. That could change on Thursday evening. Then introduces the fantasy adventure Dungeons & Dragons starring Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez in San Diego.

When? Thursday, from 9 p.m. German time.

2. The lengthy trailer for Amazon’s billion-dollar Lord of the Rings series

Teasers for teasers, teasers for trailers and teasers as long as trailers have been released in recent weeks. But the first really long trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is expected to arrive at the Comic-Con panel on Friday night.

When? Friday, from 7:30 p.m.

3. The trailer for the series finale of The Walking Dead

The third part of The Walking Dead’s 11th season will end the series after 12 years. Since Comic-Con Friday traditionally belongs to the zombies, we expect a trailer release for the series finale, as we have in years past.

When? Friday, from 10:30 p.m.

4. DC presents Shazam 2 and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam

We’ll have to do without Aquaman 2 and The Flash at this year’s Warner Bros./DC panel, but Dwayne Johnson has signed up to explain how his Black Adam is shaking the hierarchy of the DC universe. Colleague Zachary Levi will also be there, (hopefully) with the first trailer for Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods.

When? Saturday, from 7:15 p.m.

5. House of the Dragon returns to Westeros

Three years after the end of Game of Thrones, the new live-action series House of the Dragon returns to the world of Westeros. The series, set around 200 years before the adventures of Jon Snow, gets a large panel in Hall H, which gives hope for a presentation of the first long trailer.

When? Saturday, from 8:30 p.m.

6. Neil Gaiman’s Sandman conquers Hall H

Netflix’s main project at Comic-Con is Sandman, based on the comics by Neil Gaiman. The fantasy series starts at the beginning of August, but there hasn’t been a long trailer yet. San Diego might just be the place to premiere the long-awaited adaptation.

When? Saturday, from 11:30 p.m.

7. Marvel introduces the next MCU film, Black Panther 2

Black Panther was a milestone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that received unusual critical and public acclaim. Since then, many have been wondering how Black Panther will continue to be told without the star Chadwick Boseman, who died much too young. A first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever could indicate that.

When? Sunday, from 2:00 a.m. at night.
