7.8 million people watch a very strange interaction between xQc and Andrew Tate

Usually, Félix “xQc” Lengyel is the biggest fish in Twitch’s ocean. But against the “Improve yourself and your life by being like me” man Andrew Tate, the streamer also sees no country, as he now notes.

Where was xQc trumped?

  • There’s a phenomenon on Twitter called “ratio.” This means that the reply to a comment gets more likes and retweets than the actual comment.
  • On the Internet, this is something like “being overtaken on the right” – this makes it clear: the guy who answers you is more popular than you – and is therefore automatically above you in the ranking. Depending on the content of the reply comment, it can also mean: People see it differently than you do.
  • This is a very important thing for influencers on Twitter.
  • Twitch streamer wants to change the view of gaming as Miss Germany: “You can’t demonize it, but you can’t glorify it either”

Andrew Tate promises to be able to fix the sad xQc

This was the exchange: xQc posted on April 6th, “I’ve been feeling sad lately. That’s all. Then nothing.”

Andrew Tate simply posted, “I can fix you.”

The reactions this drives are outrageous:

  • xQc’s tweet was viewed 7.8 million times – received 76,791 likes and 4,878 retweets
  • Tate’s reply was viewed 3.7 million times – it received 111,123 likes and 3,469 retweets

Why is xQc sad? What is publicly known about xQc’s life doesn’t sound that great:

  • the 27-year-old has a lot of money and fans
  • but the streamer spends most of his time in front of the PC in a cluttered room and makes a living from delivery services
  • but he also has to deal with stalkers who make his life hell
  • xQc also had a strange relationship with a colleague – which was discussed at length and with pleasure by his fans
  • a story that sums up xQc’s situation: He bought a sports car but didn’t have a driver’s license and therefore had the car transferred to his wife
  • How did xQc? In a video, xQc seems a little more incomprehensible than usual. He says something like: He suffered a defeat there, received a “ratio” from Andrew Tate. That just happens.

Young men look for role models, they find really difficult guys

What is it all about? That’s a bit complicated. Tate is a highly controversial figure who has been in pre-trial detention in Romania lately on suspicion of involvement in human trafficking, rape and organized crime. He was snapped by authorities after publicly falling out with Greta Thunberg.

He has been under house arrest since March 31 and no charges have yet been filed.

  • For his critics, he is an unbearable misogynist, a slob, a macho man, and probably a criminal.
  • However, his fans see him as someone who makes men better versions of themselves, leading them to believe in God, improving their bodies and minds, and thus attaining material wealth of which they can then be proud. They also kind of throw off the yoke of women’s oppression, but that just resonates as a subtext.

That’s roughly the philosophy: men need to become powerful and competent.

In the eyes of Tate fans, xQc actually symbolizes the exact opposite of such an ideal man.

The comments on the YouTube video then say, for example, that xQc is “the pinnacle of degeneracy”. His life would be a lot better if he went to the gym, got a life coach and listened to Andrew Tate.

Then surely the women in his life would stop pushing him out. This is the ultimate sin for the followers of fans: a woman has power over a man in some form. This is practically unnatural and must be avoided at all costs.

One commentator, however, is on the xQc side and writes somewhat cynically: Andrew Tate should fix his own life. He’s not even allowed to leave his own house. He should be very quiet before he starts interfering in other people’s lives.

Adin Ross, of all people, who allegedly lives according to Tate’s teachings, is mentioned as a “positive example”.
