At outdoor store Kathmandu in Utrecht, they are curious whether the campaign will lead to an influx of Dutch people who want to prepare. They did see it at the beginning of the corona period and just after the outbreak of war in Ukraine. They have plenty of stuff in the store: from water bottles with filters, to warming blankets and food that has a shelf life of four years. “You do need a gas burner and water to prepare it, but then you also have a meal of 600 calories,” says employee Jasper van der Vliet.
