60 FPS mode for Avowed became official

Obsidian Entertainment’s highly anticipated RPG game AvowedOn the agenda with a new performance detail for a short time before the exit. Game director Carrie Patel, said in a statement that the Xbox Series X players can play in 60 FPS mode. The game, which was previously stated that it will be limited to 30 FPS, is a technical step ahead with this development.

More than one performance option for Avowed

In an interview, Carrie Patel announced that the Xbox Series X users can choose between three different performance mode: 30 FPS, 40 FPS and 60 FPS. However, in the 60 FPS mode, some sacrifices can be made in graphic details. Xbox Series S users will only access 30 and 40 FPS modes from these options.

This announcement contradicts Obsidian’s previous statement in August 2024. At that time, the team said that the lighting and details were more priority than rapid gameplay. However, with the postponement of the game, the additional development time earned allows performance improvements.

Avowed’s PC system requirements were also announced. To play the game at a minimum level, a graphics card like the Radeon RX 5700 or GeForce GTX 1070 is recommended. For higher graphics settings, strong hardware such as RX 6800 XT or RTX 3080 is required. Some test users reported that the detailed world of the game is very hardware.

Avowed will be released on February 18, 2025 and will be in the Xbox Game Pass library. This new production in Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity universe attracts attention with its open world RPG elements and action -packed gameplay.
