Above all, it is younger people who have crypto assets, and more young men than young women.
The European Central Bank, the ECB, commissioned a survey of the cryptocurrency holdings of European citizens last autumn, which showed that around 10 per cent then owned some form of cryptocurrency. At that time, the Netherlands was at the top with 14 percent, and France the lowest with 6 percent.
Since then, however, the market has fallen sharply. According to SEB, the Swedes’ 6 percent should therefore not be seen as we are below the European average, but rather that the ownership of cryptocurrencies may have declined in general.
