6 important details from the new cover that you might have missed

The successor to FIFA 23 is called EA Sports FC 24 and has now also been given a first cover and a trailer. We look at interesting details.

The new trailer for EA Sports FC 24 is making the rounds and brings with it the cover of the Ultimate Edition. That already caused laughter on the net, but overall there are some interesting things to note about the cover.

What does the Ultimate Edition cover reveal about the future of EA Sports FC 24? A few points stand out.

The date when EA FC 24 will be presented

The first detail is not directly in the cover, but in the trailer that accompanies it. There it is made clear that the big reveal of the game will take place on July 13th.

Here you can expect the first information about modes, release date, new gameplay elements and more to be shown. It would even be conceivable that the pre-orders would then be opened. In any case, FIFA 23 could be pre-ordered in July 2022.

Icons and heroes for women

Stars from both men’s and women’s football rub shoulders on the cover. However, some women stand out in particular: Former US player Mia Hamm is shown on the official website with an “Icon” emblem, Englishwoman Alex Scott is shown as “Hero”.

This suggests that there are corresponding cards for legendary players that were previously only available in FUT mode. This, in turn, would mean that the women are in Ultimate Team for the first time.

Club jersey icons

Striking on the cover: some legendary players such as Ronaldinho, Drogba and Drogba are featured in the picture with their respective clubs’ shirts, while Pelé, for example, wears the Brazil shirt. This is interesting because the clubs of the icons have not played a role in FIFA so far, only the nations.

Who knows: maybe we’ll find out as early as July 13th, whether it was purely a design decision for the cover, or whether a change to the icon cards, for example in terms of chemistry, is waiting for EA FC 24.

The question of which legends will appear as new icons in EA Sports FC also remains exciting.

dual entitlement

The term “Dual Entitlement” can be seen on the bottom left of the cover. EA Sports used this term to describe a feature of the Ultimate Edition in the past: “Dual Entitlement” lets you play the version of the old console generation, but also that of the new one.

This should confirm that EA FC 24 will continue to appear for the old consoles and – depending on the version – can be played on both generations.

Hypermotion V

In the other corner of the cover, the term “HyperMotion V” can be seen. The “HyperMotion” technology was introduced with FIFA 22 and describes the significantly revised animations that are intended to make the game more realistic.

In FIFA 23 the whole thing was updated as HyperMotion 2, with additional animations. In EA Sports, the jump to “HyperMotion V” follows – which probably doesn’t stand for “5”, but for “Volumetric Animation Technology”.

As reported by The Mirror, EA Sports VP David Jackson explained that HyperMotion V is the next step and will bring 80 times more animations than FIFA 23.

A technical leap on the pitch should therefore be expected here – but it remains to be seen what that will look like.

The big 24

The “24” is clearly visible in the EA Sports FC title on the cover, but has now been communicated for the first time. Previously, the successor to FIFA 23 was generally only referred to as “EA Sports FC” as a title, which fueled speculation that the annual releases might be dropped. The 24 now tends to point in the other direction again.
