According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred off Miyakojima Island in Okinawa province.
After the earthquake that took place in very shallow waters at 22.33 local time, there was no “giant wave” warning in the region.
The tremor was also felt in some cities in the nearby Okinawa state.
