Released on July 19, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is proof that Capcom is capable of making original games between two Resident Evil episodes and a good family remake. Game action-strategy that borrows heavily from Tower Defense, all bathed in Japanese folklore, where the Yokai shine brightly, Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess has won over quite a few people. According to figures released by Capcom, no fewer than 500,000 players have been seduced by the proposition. Be careful not to confuse this with sales, especially since the game was released day one on the Game Pass, which naturally inflated the number of curious people. It remains to be seen how many went all the way through the adventure and those who gave up after the first boss.

In the meantime, to celebrate these good numbers, Capcom is offering free DLC including three new Mazo Talismans, including one from a collaboration with Okami:

Mazo Talisman: Benkei – Once this talisman is equipped, villagers near Soh perform an enchanted dance.
Mazo Talisman: Crane Dance – Transforms Soh’s normal attacks into a mesmerizing dance, accompanied by fireworks.
Mazo Talisman: Amaterasu – With this Talisman, vibrant flowers bloom beneath Soh’s feet as he moves.

In addition to these unique gifts, a title update is now available for all players, which includes a new sorting feature for the Mazo Talismans equip screen, as well as minor bug fixes.
