A week ago there was a figure skating show in Skellefteå Kraft Arena. Now the ice, sardines and Plexiglas have been taken down to make room for the biggest sporting event held in Skellefteå – in terms of the number of participants – the Tiomila orienteering competition.
Around 5,000 orienteers will participate in orienteering competitions during the Kristihimmelsfärd weekend. Unique for this year is that changeovers and the finish will take place indoors in the Skellefteå Kraft arena, where the audience, leaders and teams will be able to follow the competition from the doctors.
With just days to go until the competition, the work to adapt the ice stadium for orienteering is in full swing.
Follow the arena manager as he shows the arena’s transformation before the competition.
