What are even giant dinosaurs afraid of? Exactly, volcanic eruptions. That is, to put it bluntly, the premise of Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom, which is on TV today. It cost $500 million before taxes, making it one of the most expensive films of all time (via Forbes). At the end of the film, fans see that something many of them have been longing for since the beginning of the franchise. Beware, spoilers!
On TV: Sci-fi film that gives fans a long-awaited gift
Jurassic World 2 takes place three years after the events of Jurassic World. The peacefully living dinosaurs have to leave their habitat Isla Nublar as quickly as possible to avoid the impending disaster Escape the volcano eruption on the tropical island. Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) want to save her as quickly as possible. But of course a dark group of villains have their hands in the game again.
Spoilers follow: In the end, the long-announced volcanic eruption finally occurs, which the sci-fi film team simulated in places with cat litter (!). Much more powerful than the explosion and the lava masses is the freedom of the dinosaurs, who in the finale escape from captivity and into the wide world. Humans and prehistoric lizards actually live together now.
So life literally finds its way in the finale: This catastrophic scenario has been in the air since the first part. The reboot series already had the promise of an escape in the title: From Jurassic park became Jurassic World.
