Extreme weather and heat waves occur more and more often in Sweden. MSB sees major risks with constructions that do not take into account the effects of climate change – and now wants to make it easier for municipalities to adapt to the climate.

To prevent the risk of race, there is a state grant for natural disasters. The contribution was previously SEK 25 million, but was increased last year to SEK 500 million. Although measures can be expensive, MSB believes that preventive measures are cheaper than the costs that come when something happens.
