watermelon granita

As a snack or as an aperitif, the iced and fruity granita is a great classic for cooling off:

  • remove the skin and pits from a slice of watermelon;
  • cut it into pieces and put them in a blender;
  • once the pieces of watermelon have been mixed, add the juice of a lemon as well as 100 g of icing sugar;
  • arrange the mixture in a salad bowl and place it in the freezer for three to four hours;
  • using a fork, scrape the large ice cube to make a granita, according to your needs;
  • present it in a glass with a small piece of watermelon or a ball of watermelon as well as a mint leaf or a slice of lemon for the decorative touch.

You can also serve a little granita to accompany a salad of raw ham, mozzarella and rocket.

Fresh skewers

Quick and easy to make, fruit and vegetable skewers are always a real success:

  • prepare pieces of watermelon and use mozzarella balls;

  • once the pulp has been mixed, add the juice of a lemon and two tablespoons of powdered sugar;
  • mix everything;
  • place the mixture in an ice cream maker and let it churn for the time indicated;
  • take out the sorbet just before tasting it and serve it with small biscuits.
