5 things you should do this weekend

It’s worth playing Pokémon GO on the weekend because: You can secure some useful monsters and bonuses.

What’s going on this weekend? On April 6th and 7th, it might be worth planning a Pokémon GO walk or two, at least if the weather cooperates and is reasonably friendly.

Because: Several events take place on the weekend and some of them bring cool monsters with them. You should grab these when you have the chance.

Here you can find an overview of everything interesting at a glance.

What’s on the weekend? going on in Pokémon GO?

There are five things you should do or pay attention to on the weekend.

Grab Katagami

Since April 9th, Katagami can be caught in raids in the northern hemisphere, including here. It stays until April 12th, so catching it on the weekend is a good idea. Because: You shouldn’t miss Katagami, the ultra beast is one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO ever. In fact, Katagami is the strongest plant attacker, apart from Mega Gewaldro.

Kaguron is also still in raids, but only in the southern hemisphere. So for the Ultra Beast you would have to use a long-distance raid and be invited accordingly. However, Kaguron is noticeably less useful than Katagami.

The best counterattacks against Katagami can be found here.

Crypto raids with Entei

Entei is waiting as Crypto

On the weekend you can also take part in the 5-star crypto raids, where you will meet Entei. It appears on Saturday and Sunday. The monster is not easy to crack, you have to compete with several trainers and enough gemstones to redeem it, otherwise the raid is almost impossible to do.

The reward is one of the top fire attackers, which in turn is a strong counterattack against Katagami.

Community Day Classic with child worm

Childworm and its developments are available on Sunday

On Sunday, April 7th, the C-Day Classic will take place with the dragon Pokémon Childwurm. If you don’t have one yet or are looking for a stronger copy, you should take the appointment with you. Because: Brutalanda is one of the top attackers in the game, especially in the dragon area.

And if you already have a good Brutalanda, you can always secure a better copy or the necessary candies for leveling up. In addition, the shiny chance is greatly increased and there is triple catch XP.

The guide to the Community Day Classic with Kindwurm can be found here.

Collect Twitch code for research

The European Pokémon Championship is also taking place in London this weekend. There are also Twitch streams where you receive a code as a Twitch drop that gives you research with six PvP Pokémon.

You can find all the information about this here: How to get free research for Pokémon GO on Twitch.

Take advantage of appropriate surprises

The “Appropriate Surprises” event only runs until April 9, 2024. This weekend you have another good opportunity to use the event’s bonuses.

What’s particularly exciting is that you have an increased chance of XXS and XXL Pokémon. This could be interesting for future showcases where size is often crucial. Meanwhile there is also:

  • An increased shiny chance on Wailmer
  • Double XP when catching (except when C-Day is running with Childwurm, where triple XP counts.)
  • Afterwards, things continue straight away with appointments that are pending in the game. You can find our overview here: All events in April 2024 in Pokémon GO.
