Destiny 2’s latest expansion will be available in a few hours, and you still have a few things to do if you want to start this new adventure on the right foot.
Destiny 2 is more than five years of undeniable success for the only massively multiplayer triple A FPS on the market, thanks to a community of dedicated players. Bungie will have succeeded in creating and perfecting the principle of the service game so popular today, with many DLCs and expansions that will have maintained the passion of players for almost half a decade. This Tuesday, the game will begin the last chapter of its history with the arrival of the Lightfall expansion. One of the most ambitious releases in the history of the game bringing with it a lot of novelties and many changes. It is also to help you prepare for these many new features that we offer you five things to do absolutely before the arrival of Lightfall.
1 – Use your planetary materials
Essential resources since the release of Destiny 2 in 2017, planetary materials will disappear with the arrival of Lightfall. We will not complain about this removal of yet another form of in-game virtual currency, involving the end of many hours of farming on the different planets of the solar system. On the other hand, your planetary materials are still useful to you now. You can use them to collect Lumens from Master Rahool before Lightfall arrives. In addition, use your extra Lumens to load up on Raid banners, improvement matrices or other consumables, for example.
2 – Unequip your mods from your armors and weapons
Knowing Bungie’s tendency for glitches and bugs during Destiny 2 expansion deployments, we strongly advise you to remove all mods equipped on your armors. Indeed, Lightfall brings with it a complete overhaul of the in-game mod system, with many quality of life improvements. It could therefore be that some of your mods are destroyed if they are still equipped on some of your armor. By unequippeding them, you eliminate the risk of losing them on Tuesday.
3 – Browse the store
Who says new season also says new cosmetics shop. Do not hesitate to go to the Destiny 2 store to pick up the items you absolutely want to own. Dust or Silver, it’s all good to acquire your cosmetic of choice.
4 – Collect all items from your Season Pass
Just like for the shop, the end of the season also implies the disappearance of your season pass. However, it contains many hard-earned rewards during your grind of the past few months. Make sure you have collected all the items available on your pass before the arrival of Lightfall.
5 – Go to Xur to get an Exotic Cipher
Xur is currently on Nessus. He always sells exotic and legendary items that you can’t miss if you have enough resources. On the other hand, make sure to recover an exotic cipher to have one on you at the start of the season.
