There is much more to contemporary cinema than superhero films. The best example of this is Nope, the new film from director and screenwriter Jordan Peele. At the August 11, 2022 the exciting genre mix starts in German cinemas. Already the previously published trailers came up with fascinating pictures.
For the theatrical release, we want to introduce you to the mystery thriller, because this is a real special film project. Peele’s third directorial work captivates with a series of mysterious events that give you goosebumps. A more promising blockbuster with an original idea will not come this year.
Nope follows Em (Keke Palmer) and OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) who own a remote ranch and… Lending horses to Hollywood productions. One day something strange happens that they cannot explain. Before Em and OJ know it, they have their own adventure.
Reason 1: Nope comes from a brilliant director
His name has already been mentioned: Jordan Peele is a director that every film fan should have on their screens at the moment. After a long stint in front of the camera as an actor and comedian, Peele transitioned into the director’s chair with the horror film Get Out, delivering one of the best genre contributions of the past years.

Nope is still visually stunning: While Peele questions blockbuster cinema with all its spectacle on a content level, he spared no effort behind the scenes to transform Nope into a film that visually stands out from the crowd. His main ally: the talented cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema.
Van Hoytema is known for films like Interstellar, Dunkirk and Tenet. Together with Christopher Nolan he has become the spearhead of Hollywood when it comes to gigantic IMAX pictures. Nope was also called IMAX experience designed for the best possible screen experience and impresses with powerful recordings.
Reason 4: Keke Palmer finally has her movie moment
Actress, voice actress and singer: Keke Palmer, born in 1993, has one remarkable career behind. She made her debut in 2004’s Barbershop: Back in Business. Since then, she has become a fixture on the American TV landscape, for example through the agent series Berlin Station and the music drama Star.
