5 rare Pokemon that are bloody hard to get

In Pokémon GO there are some monsters that are not easy to get. We show you six particularly difficult candidates here.

What are these Pokemon? There are many monsters in Pokémon GO that are only on the road for a limited time or only at certain events. This applies, for example, to Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. Even Pokémon that only exist in certain regions are among the rarest monsters.

However, there are also some monsters that are just hard to get in their basic form because they are quite rare – and then they need a lot of candy to evolve.

We show you such monsters here.

Ramoth

Ignivor is hard to get, Ramoth even harder

Trainers have been waiting for this monster for a very long time until it ends up in the game in spring 2023. The problem: Its pre-evolution Ignivor only exists in eggs – and the chance of hatching it is also minimal.

To turn the difficulty up even more, it also takes 400 candies to evolve Ignivor into Ramoth. This makes Ramoth one of the most difficult catches in the game right now.

Amfira

To get Amfira, you first need a Molunk. You can get the lizard-like Pokémon from Team GO Rocket’s 12km Eggs. So you have to fight rocket bosses first to even have a chance.

But that’s when the complicated part has only just begun: Because only the female variant of Molunk can evolve into Amfira. So you need double luck: First, Molunk has to hatch from the egg, and then it can’t be the male variant either.

Last but not least, you also need 50 candies to evolve Molunk into Amfira.

Rabigator

From Ganovil to Rabigator

Staying straight with the monsters that Team GO Rocket can bring you: Rabigator is the last evolution of Ganovil. This, in turn, is also only available in the Rocket Eggs – you cannot currently get it in the wild or in raids.

Now you have the same problem as with Molunk: First get the right eggs, run 12 kilometers and hope that the right monster hatches.

You also need 25 candies to evolve Ganovil into Rokkaiman, and another 100 to get Rabigator.

Wadribie and Honweisel, also as Shiny

Honweisel brings with it a similar problem to Molunk: it evolves exclusively from the female form of Wadribie, for 50 candies. Wadribie itself is relatively unusual, but the female form is particularly rare.

The monster has been in the game since 2019, so some Trainers may have caught a few specimens of the Female Wadribie. If you don’t have any luck with the bees yourself, an exchange could be an option.

Monetigo

Monetigo and Greedy Specter

Gierspenst has been in the game since 2023 and brings its development Monetigo with it. There is less luck here, but a lot of effort is required.

First you need a coin bag to catch Greedspectre. You can get this by connecting Pokémon GO to the Nintendo Switch and then sending a postcard to the Crimson & Crimson games. How exactly this works with the switch and Gierspenst, we show you here.

You can get Greedspecter from the Coin Bag, but that’s not enough to get Monetigo as well. For this, you need Greedspectre Coins, which you can get from golden Poké-Stops. And in order to get them, you first need to use a Gold Lure Module, which you can get by sending several Crimson and Crimson Postcards.

In a nutshell: the way to get Monetigo is quite long. Because: You need 999 greedy specter coins for the development. So plan a lot of time.

However, there have also been cases in which trainers have teamed up to get lots of coins in one go with lots of gold lure modules. Here we show you how trainers caught Monetigo in a very short time.
