There are thousands of sports around the world and a whole competition that many of us have never heard of. Here you can read more about five of the world’s most unusual sports and competitions.
Grass slalom
Do you love skiing? Then grass slalom is a sport for you. You don’t have to wait for any snow to fall to the hill or go especially far. Grass slalom you can enjoy even in the summer and competitions are organized in Sweden.
The sport is identical to alpine skiing both when it comes to technology and movement. The difference is the skis which with a caterpillar -like band makes it possible to go on grass. With these skis it is not possible to plow or cords. To swing, you have to angle the skis and “walk on edge”.

In East Dublin in the state of Georgia in the United States, families gather to compete in the so -called Redneck Games. The competition arose in 1996 and is based on thousands of farmers competing against each other in various branches. Examples of branches are armpit, toilet seat throwing, mouthpiece for pig feet from a tub of water and stomach jump in clay. The price for each branch is a drunk and tnechy beer can.
In 2013, the competitions were canceled for various reasons, including reducing revenue and support. By 2023, the competition came back under the new name Redneckin ‘4 Jesus.

Have you ever thought about hunting for a rolling cheese down a hill? Then you have found the competition for you. In 1948, an oral rolling competition in Cooper´s Hill started near the city of Gloucester in England and the traditional competition is still ongoing today.
The competition is about chasing the cheese down the steep hill. First down wins and down at the finish line, ambulances are ready to take care of everyone who injures themselves on the way down.

Maybe Kärringkån is the next sport for you and your partner? Kärringkånk is a team sport founded in Finland. Just as you can guess based on the name, the sport means that a man runs carried on a so -called “girlfriend”, ie a woman.
The unusual running sport is about getting through the so -called Kärringkånbanan. The course can be on grass, gravel, asphalt and sand. In this sport it is not just that you are strong and fast. You also need to be smooth as the Kärringbanan contains obstacles and water graves.
When it comes to rules, there is no rule on how the woman has to be worn. All ways are simply allowed. According to Wikipedia, the woman should weigh 49 kilos and if she weighs less she must wear a backpack with an additional weight so that she achieves 49 kilos. If the participant drops the woman, the competing gets a 15 -second time allowance. In terms of security, there is a rule that the woman must wear a helmet, at the same time, each participant is responsible for her own safety. Another rule according to Wikipedia is that all participants must have fun.
The competition is in the heat where two teams at a time compete at the same time. The prize goes to the team with the fastest time, most entertaining, best dressed and the strongest carrier.

Extreme sport is a collective name for sports or physical activity that for some reason is risky or that can give an adrenaline rush. Examples of extreme sports that you may recognize before may be parachuting, parkour or free diving. The question is if you have ever heard of extreme ironing?
Extreme ironing is not a sport for everyone. To cope with the sport, it is important to be both imaginative, enduring and brave. The sport is about taking its ironing board and deletion of as unusual place as possible and simply ironing their clothes.
Both on mountain peaks, under ice and on rock walls, the sport has been practiced. There are also extreme stranger who performed the sport and at the same time linked parachute or in the ski slope during a ride. Only the imagination can set boundaries in this sport.
