World of Warcraft has effectively debased 5 of its rarest mounts. You now get them thrown back, the drop chance has been massively increased.
In World of Warcraft, the rarest of mounts are often coveted. However, due to a bug, 5 of the rarest WoW mounts are now losing their rarity. The Dracthyr are indirectly to blame for this, because they had an unfair advantage that Blizzard is now simply extending to all characters.
What was the problem? The Dracthyr Callers, the new race from Dragonflight, have been cavorting in World of Warcraft for a few hours. Since you can reach level 60 very quickly with them and many players are fed up with Shadowlands, many Dracthyr have looked for other tasks. They farm old raids for transmog or collect mounts.
However, there was a rather devastating bug. Because many of the old world bosses could not drop normal loot for the Dracthyr, with one exception: their super-rare mounts.
This resulted in Dracthyr Callers having only the specific mount as the only possible loot from many of these world bosses. So you had a drastically increased chance of getting this mount, the drop was almost guaranteed. For comparison: Usually most of these mounts have a drop chance of well under 1%.
What has Blizzard changed now? Blizzard fixed the problem after a few hours, but the damage was already done. Many Dracthyr players now own the super rare mounts. So the following applied here: Whoever exploited the error early on could now enrich themselves with the chic mounts.
The complaints in the official forum were correspondingly loud that this was unfair and that the players’ mounts should be revoked.
However, Blizzard has chosen a different path:
Mount drop chance has now been massively increased for all characters. The chance that you will get the desired mount the next time you kill a world boss has increased significantly.
The corresponding rarity of the mounts drops drastically and will probably no longer be a prestige symbol in the future.
Which mounts are affected? A total of 5 very rare mounts from old world bosses are affected. In detail these are:
If you want to secure these fancy mounts, then take a look at the corresponding world bosses in the next few days. At level 60, you can easily defeat them solo. But be careful, sometimes you might have to wait a long time for the respawn – because others will also want to secure these mounts now.
What do you think? Cool thing that the mounts are easier to get to? Or a clear “fail” that now completely devalues the rarity?
