5 mods that Larian says you should try

Even though the selection of mods seems almost endless (and the list gets bigger every few days), Larian has made a small pre-selection and recommends 5 different mods to you. These range from simple, additional adjustments to the character appearance to significant changes to the gameplay.

Custom Dice

This is more about a whole bunch of different mods than a single adjustment. You can customize the design of the cube and give it a new coat of paint. Do you want a cube in the dark colors of the goddess Shar? Or your druidic side with the green Feywild colors? The choice of dice is almost endless. A small but nice change if you don’t want to change too much of the game, but still want a small, new touch.

FaerunColors

Do you like to customize your equipment and are dissatisfied with the limited options in the game? Then FaerunColors is the solution. The modification adds around 100 new colors to the game, which you can easily access in the warehouse. You can then color your equipment as you wish.

The colors are based on well-known characters and gods from the world of Faerun, such as Bahamut, Ilmater or Shar.

Adjustable Party Limit

Do you sometimes find it annoying when you need a certain character for a conversation, but they’re in storage? This doesn’t have to be the case anymore. With Adjustable Party Limit you can bypass the limit of 4 characters in the party and have up to 16 heroes in your party.

By the way, this also works in multiplayer, so you can assign additional characters to all your fellow combatants if you want.

Danger: This mod affects the difficulty of the game and reduces it, as battles become significantly easier when you have more party members active at the same time. There are also events and dialogues that only occur if you specifically do not have certain group members with you.

UnlockLevelCurve

In Baldur’s Gate 3 you reach the maximum level 12 relatively early. After that, you can only improve your heroes through equipment or temporary buffs (like elixirs). But Dungeons & Dragons actually goes up to character level 20. If you want to explore exactly these remaining 8 levels, you can do so with the UnlockLevelCurve mod. This lets your characters level up to level 20 and gives them new spells and abilities.

Danger: This mod drastically affects the difficulty of the game as the game is designed to be completed at level 12. Towards the end, the fights become much easier than they were originally intended.

All Camp Clothes & Dies

When you’re not beating up goblins or stomping through severed tentacles, you want to relax a bit in camp – but you can’t do that in armor, but rather in comfortable camp clothes. But collecting them is cumbersome and you usually just leave the rubbish lying around during the adventure.

The Mod All Camp Clothes & This smuggles some bags into the big box in your camp. In these bags you will find all camp clothing, all colors available in the game and also all underwear of current and potential companions. So you can make sure your warriors have the prettiest clothes (or the sexiest underwear) and look perfect in every cutscene.

If you can’t do anything with these mods, there are many more to choose from that you should just take a look at. The list is long and extensive, so there is guaranteed to be something for all players. If you need even more mods, we have presented our 10 best mods for Baldur’s Gate 3 here.
