It’s been no secret for a while now that every new Resident Evil remake is a commercial success and the fourth installment will be no exception to that rule. Capcom has indeed just updated its figures and we learn that Resident Evil 4 Remake has already crossed 5 million copies sold worldwide. A nice score, especially since it is done in the space of only four months of operation and that sales will continue to climb, especially with the arrival of the VR version, expected soon. By way of comparison, Resident Evil 2 Remake needed 10 months to exceed 5 million sales, which was already considered a big popular success for Capcom. Enough to allow the Japanese publisher to work on other remakes of the license and to galvanize other studios (like Konami with Silent Hill) to do the same with their past glories.
