Heart diseases can be seen in people of all ages and genders. It is important to live regularly and healthy in order to prevent heart diseases that can cause very serious consequences. Mortality can be reduced by correcting factors other than genetic factors, age and gender that cause heart diseases. prof. Dr. Onur Akpınar stated that cardiovascular diseases, which is one of the most important health problems, ranks first among all causes of death in the world, and that even one third of the total deaths are caused by this reason.
BEWARE OF CHOLESTEROL RAISING FOODS
Stating that high cholesterol levels cause cardiovascular diseases and heart attacks, Prof. Dr. Akpınar, “Consuming foods with high saturated fat and cholesterol ratios are among the important reasons that increase the level of cholesterol in the blood. Saturated fats from animal products such as red meat and butter, and artificially produced trans fats increase bad LDL cholesterol levels. Cholesterol is both produced in the body and Since it is taken from foods of animal origin, it is important for people with cholesterol problems to take care to consume foods low in fat.
SMOKING INCREASE THE RISK OF HEART ARISES TO 45 PERCENT
Stating that there is a very close relationship between the consumption of tobacco products, especially cigarettes, and coronary heart disease, Prof. Dr. Akpınar said, “The use of these products facilitates the accumulation of fat and lime in addition to cholesterol on the inner surface of the vessels and increases the risk of heart attack by up to 45 percent. In addition, it causes arteriosclerosis and increases the tendency to clot by disrupting the fluidity of the blood. In people who quit smoking, On the other hand, the risk of heart attack decreases rapidly and regresses to almost the same level as non-smokers in about 10 years.
BLOOD FOLLOW-UP IS VERY IMPORTANT
“The extra workload caused by hypertension on the heart causes it to enlarge and not be able to pump enough blood to the body,” noted Akpınar, adding, “The heart, which is mostly made up of muscles, thickens to meet the increased load, and over time, relaxation and then contraction functions occur and heart failure occurs. In addition, hypertension both paves the way for arteriosclerosis and causes changes in coronary circulation. As a result, heart attack occurs in people with hypertension by deteriorating the nutrition of the heart. To prevent this situation, blood pressure should be monitored and controlled, a healthy diet away from salt and an active life style should be adopted,” he said.
DIABETES RISKS HEART DISEASES
Emphasizing that diabetes, or diabetes, is an important risk factor for heart health, Akpınar said, “In people with diabetes, blood sugar, that is, glucose, is at high levels. High glucose levels cause changes in the blood vessel wall over time. These changes make the individual prone to hardening of the arteries from the early stages of his life. “This situation can lead the patient to heart attacks as a result of nutritional problems in the heart tissues. Therefore, diabetic patients should pay attention to weight control by following their diet program as well as following their blood sugar effectively.”
MOVING UNDER AN HOUR CAUSES HEART DISEASES
Pointing out that a sedentary lifestyle and obesity are other causes of heart disease, Akpınar continued as follows:
“Recent research shows us that moving less than 1 hour a week causes heart disease. Therefore, it is important to make a habit of doing sports to protect heart health. With regular sports or exercise, the number of capillaries in the heart increases. This is the most common condition. While reducing the risk of coronary artery diseases, it also helps to maintain the balance of good and bad cholesterol.
