5 Best Harem Anime Featuring Guys Just Too Lucky

Once in a while a harem anime can be quite funny. Here on MeinMMO we have a selection of harem anime for you that should cover all tastes. Yes all.

Even though harem anime basically spans all genres (i.e. action, romance, drama, comedy and so on), the basic constellation of characters is always similar. There is a (mostly male) protagonist who is being courted by many women. While that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be raunchy, in many cases it is.

Nevertheless, there are also many good harem anime, especially in the comedy area, that are definitely worth a look. (Help, I’m being forced into this article.)

Love Hina

His grandmother owns a hotel in which he first stays in order to study for the entrance exam again in peace and quiet. However, his grandmother has already converted the former hotel into a dormitory for girls. And as fate would have it, he has to run the dormitory in the future – and therefore live under one roof with 5 young women who are not particularly enthusiastic about it at the beginning.

What to expect from Love Hina: Love Hina dates back to 2000 and is now almost a classic. Many anime clichés of today’s harem or romance anime have their origins here. Especially the “archetypal girl clichés”, such as the tsundere or dandere, were established in the anime from this time and are therefore also represented in Love Hina.

The story is quite quiet, but definitely worth seeing. A very nice, entertaining harem anime that you can watch wonderfully “on the side”.

The World God Only Knows

Alternative names: Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai
Genres: Comedy, Romance, Supernatural
Episodes: 36 (3 seasons)
Stream available on: Crunchy roll

Keima is known on the internet as the “god of conquest” because he can conquer any girl’s heart – at least in dating sims. He doesn’t want anything to do with real women.

When he gets the request to prove his superiority in dating games, he accepts something prematurely and has thus made a pact with a demon from hell. He must now, alongside the lively Elsie, catch escaped evil souls hiding in the world.

But in order to get these souls, he has to conquer what he hates most: the hearts of real girls, who are not as easy to calculate as in video games.

What to expect from The World God Only Knows: The setting of this series is quite unusual and plays with many clichés. However, the depiction of the female “conquest goals” is particularly interesting here – they are significantly more multi-layered and complex than in many other harem series. Above all, Keima’s failure when he relies on the experiences from his dating games is always nice to look at – just like the moments when his plans finally work out.

The Quintessential Quintuplets

Alternative names: 5-toubun no Hanayome, The Five Wedded Brides
Genres: comedy, romance
Episodes: 24 (2 seasons)
Stream available on: Crunchy roll

Fuutarou Uesugi is a model student but faces many problems. His withdrawn and, at first glance, dismissive nature has brought him few friends and his father is heavily in debt. Salvation comes when he is asked to tutor a wealthy family.

What he does not yet suspect: These are quintuplets, all of whom he is supposed to teach. And although the girls are all at risk of not making the promotion, they have little interest in learning – after all, they are the children of a wealthy family and do not see the need for it.

What to expect from The Quintessential Quintuplets: Quintessential Quintuplets manages with a pleasantly few ecchi elements and convinces with great characters that you quickly grow fond of.

Each of the girls is interesting and even Uesugi does not correspond to the otherwise so typical “noname protagonists”, whose only attribute is having won the jackpot in the women’s lottery. A nice, shallow story awaits you here, which makes you smile contentedly over and over again.
