There are three films being shown in a row on TV today, which are perfect for a marathon film evening. At first glance, all three can be described as action thrillers, but while Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is more in the James Bond direction and Killer Elite is a pure action thriller, Falling Down is not only cult, but also a successful satire.

The oligarch Viktor Cherevin (Kenneth Branagh) wants to plunge the USA and, ideally, the entire dollar currency into chaos for the Russian government. He then embarks on a large-scale campaign of revenge, but he has to work for the kidnapper first bring three former special forces soldiers around the corner. However, this killer elite is protected by ex-SAS soldier Spike (Clive Owen), who in turn works for a secret organization.

Falling Down is and remains a real cult film in which Michael Douglas gradually freaks out
We all know the premise of Falling Down all too well: William Foster (Michael Douglas)
is having a really bad dayis stuck in a traffic jam and it’s also incredibly hot. But only very few freak out as completely as the already predisposed father, who not only has no impulse control but is also a real asshole. Things become particularly critical when William comes into possession of a bag full of weapons.
As unsympathetic as the protagonist may seem, the socially critical drama and the heavy load of satire in Falling Down are successful. Here lies every encounter has highly explosive potentialso that the film remains exciting until the bitter end. The black humor and the acting do the rest.
