According to the appeal, the man firstly wants to be completely freed from the charges, secondly he wants a shorter sentence and to pay less damages to the woman.
It was on April 22 this year that a young woman was found injured in a deep mine hole. The day before, the woman had been driven to the area by the 41-year-old man, whom she got to know in an asylum.
Tried to stone the woman with bricks
At the mine hole, the man raped the woman and pushed her down the mine hole – a fall of 24 metres. After that, on two occasions he tried to stone her with bricks.
In October, the man was sentenced by the Västmanland district court against his denial to life imprisonment and deportation for aggravated rape and attempted murder.
The accused woman is appealing the verdict
The woman accused of the crime has also appealed the verdict in order to receive higher damages, which the district court decided at SEK 500,000 for violation and SEK 45,000 for burning and pain.
