The first stabbing incident on Balijelaan took place late in the evening of Wednesday 27 September. When a 23-year-old woman was cycling near the bus stop, a man cycled next to her. He pulled her hair hard, causing her to fall. He then stabbed her with a sharp object and quickly drove off on his bike. The woman had to go to the hospital for treatment.
On Saturday 30 September, another 23-year-old woman was attacked in a similar manner. She parked her bike at around 2:30 in the morning near the intersection of Croeselaan and Balijelaan in Utrecht. At that moment, she was stabbed with a sharp object by a man who robbed her of her shoulder bag and then cycled away.
In the night of Monday 2 to Tuesday 3 October, it happened again. This time the victim was a 20-year-old woman. Shortly after midnight, she was sitting on the back of a friend’s bike when a man came cycling next to them. He spoke to the woman on the back and almost immediately stabbed her with a sharp object. She was slightly injured in her neck and face.
