In March 2022, now-convict Gregory was walking his dog when he ran into the 52-year-old victim and an altercation ensued. The victim turned and walked away when Gregory stabbed him from behind. The 52-year-old Amersfoorter knocked him to the ground, but could not prevent him from stabbing him several times. The victim suffered stab wounds to his chest, back, lower leg and foot. He had to undergo urgent life-saving surgery and is still suffering from serious physical and psychological injuries.
