Even more than 11 years after the finale of Dexter, the story of the serial killer is not yet over. Dexter: Original Sin, the third Dexter series, is currently running at Paramount+. As a prequel, it sheds light on the young police intern’s murderous beginnings in Miami in 1991. But that’s not all: the franchise is jumping back to the present with the next spin-off this summer.

As reported by Deadline, among others, David Zayas will reprise the role of the fan favorite Detective Angel Batista who recently surprised everyone with a brief guest appearance at the end of Dexter: New Blood. Also back is James Remar Harry Morganwho accompanied Dexter as a fatherly “ghost” for eight seasons.
The return of Jack Alcott now finally confirms that Dexter: Reawakening is really a direct sequel to New Blood. This most recently embodied the older version of Dexter’s son Harrison Morganwho fired a fatal shot at his father at the end of the first sequel series.
However, as Dexter: Original Sin revealed in its opening moments, Dexter was able to cheat death. However, concrete details about the continuation of his story are still being kept under wraps. Will he possibly end up in prison and have to answer for all his murders in court? Perhaps the original Sin finale, which will be released on Paramount+ on February 14, 2025, will already provide the first clues.
When does Dexter: Reawaken start on Paramount+?
